Bohica Brothers Fire LLC was organized in 2008. The name is an offshoot of Bohica Brothers—a group of friends that put together a team to compete in Battlebots. The idea to start contract fire fighting has its roots from the 2006 Derby fire in Montana. I was in the process of moving back to the family ranch at the time and helped a contract crew protect a neighbor’s ranch. Over a few beers with another group of friends, we came to the following conclusions:

1. Wildfires can be pretty spectacular and cool to watch. (Not PC)
2. Beetle kill and drought will continue to make conditions right for bigger and more frequent fires.
3. It should be a fairly recession proof business.

A chassis was purchased and with input from Forest Service friends and personal experience E 31 was born. 2010 will be our first contract season.
